Solving the Feedly Autoposting Issue for Make.com Users
Hey there, fellow Make.com users! I've noticed that some of us have been experiencing a recurring issue with Feedly autoposting to Wordpress and Reddit. The problem seems to be random errors that occur every few days, such as the 'displayError' function finishing with an error, or issues with Google Drive. Worst of all, if we're not constantly monitoring the situation, Feedly starts a loop of attempts to post all articles from our feeds. If the error isn't resolved, it breaks and starts posting all articles from the bottom of the feed. This can result in a flood of posts that we can't stop, which is far from ideal.
What's the solution?
Well, after some discussion and brainstorming, we've come up with a potential workaround. If Feedly allows you to set up webhooks on their end, you could consider using them. Alternatively, you could use the 'Search for Articles' modules and pass the timestamp there. This would allow you to replace the 'Watch Articles' module and use the 'Search for Articles' module at the start of the scenario. You could then use the 'Newer than' fields for filtering the results. For example, if you run the scenario every hour, you could pass 'addHours(now;-1)' in the 'Newer than' fields.
Another solution that was suggested is to add a Filter after the 'Watch articles' module with the Condition 'greater than' 'addHours(now;-1)'. This should result in only articles added in the last hour being posted. This solution is currently being tested, so stay tuned for updates!
